So my wife and I built a house in the Mekong Delta in 2 months. To the Vietnamese this is totally normal but for me as a foreigner....we do some things differently for sure!
It all started with a little, muddy block of land 5m wide by 40m long. This is quite large for Vietnamese standards but we got it very cheap as learned later it was a little bit difficult to build on!
The foundations took the longest and most money/ effort to achieve as building on not so solid MUD can be....problematic, however the builder knew what we was doing and since we only wanted a single storey house, it made things a lot easier in the long run.
Every day after work I would head straight to the building site to catch up on the morning's events and to see the house slowly coming together. I hope that you enjoy this small insight to how the Vietnamese get things done!
